The Carnival Development Committee is closing down, and a new management team being put together. The new body will be more streamlined and be similar to the body that organises the Creole Music Festival.

New Calypso Monarch and Dominica's first woman to hold the title, Tasha P will get a full Government scholarship. PM Skerrit said it would send a message to youth and young woman in particular. He said her achievementￂﾠ should be something all young people emulate.

PM hails Carnival organisers & winners

PM Skerrit thanked all the organisers of this year's Carnival, and was pleased Carnival pased with only a few small incidents reported by the police. He also congratulated the winners of the Queen and Calypso Monarch competiton.
