Police report that three men have been charged with the robbery and rape of a US citizen in the Calibishe area at the end of April. They also reported that three men have also been charged with a rape and robbery incident at Batibou beach in February. Police were reporting on crime statistics, noting a reduction in crimes of murder lately.

Man charged with Marigot robbery

Iam Massicot was charged today with attempted murder of a police officer among other charges relating to the attempted robbery at the Marigot Credit Union last month. Massicot was injured and hospitalised in the incident. Four others were charged. Bail was denied for all men.

Two attacked in Layou Park

Two English tourists were attacked and robbed by armed men in the Layou Park area on Wednesday. Community Tourism champion for the Layou area Josephine Dublic called on authorites and public to do all possible to protect residents and tourists and protect tourism in the area.

$15k for manslaughter

50 year-old William Greenaway has had his fine upheld for the 2010 manslaughter of a man who fell off his vehicle. Failure to pay the fine would result in jail. He was given 51 months to pay.
