Dominica's Health Minister has said one Chinese doctor has been registered with the Medical Board and is working at the hospital. Three others Chinese doctors were not registered by the medical board on language grounds. Thier status will be reviewed in 3 months time; in the meantime they are working alongside registered doctors.

Dominica's Ministry of Health officials are asking the public not to panic, and emphasise recent TB cases are not part of an outbreak. Five cases have been reported and are being treated at the hospital.

A cancer and diabetes wellness centre has opened in Goodwill.

PM Skerrit said a new hospital would be contructed in 2012. He said the present building would be replaced by a Chinese grant-funded state-of-the-art facility.

Over 2,300 Dominicans have received eye care from Cuba. the Cuban Ambassador to Dominica has revealed. This is ahead of December 8th which is Cuba-CARICOM Day.
