"More Scholarships please, President"

PM Skerrit said he urged the President of the US to offer more scholarships to Caribbean students. He met with the President at a meeting of Latin American heads-of-state in Colombia. They also discussed regional security.

Tourism award for Kalinago

The recently-won Caribbean Tourism Organisation heritage award for the Kalinago Barana Aute has been described as a significant acheivement by the Carib Chief Garnet Joseph. The award was given yesterday at a conference in Guyana.

Chinese doctors for hospital

Dominica's Health Minister has said one Chinese doctor has been registered with the Medical Board and is working at the hospital. Three others Chinese doctors were not registered by the medical board on language grounds. Thier status will be reviewed in 3 months time; in the meantime they are working alongside registered doctors.
