War on Humanity
By de Queen Macoomeh
Each one of those Iraqi and British and American troops and citizens who will die makes me less; makes me ashamed of our universal lack of humanity.
Some folks say that war is sometimes the only means available and I would agree given the fact that we are still so territorial even after centuries of evolution. Saddam is a bad man and bad men should be removed from our midst. But it hurts on a very personal, female and yes just plain sucky level, to know we didnt exhaust every diplomatic means to remove him.
It hurts to know that our strongest and sharpest are over there because world leaders are too panty-waisted to fight this themselves. Remember the days in which the king or ruler was the first in battle? When did that stop and why? Whose decision was it to send our brave men instead, while our leaders hid and slipped us orders on pieces of paper? Who decided to use our male babies as shields?
They say Saddam has disrespected women, made us less than even second class citizens. We are chattel. He farms us out like sows to make more babies to fight his manly wars. But they all each and every government - look to us for more of the fruit of our bellies.
The west allows women in the military now, well whoopdeedoo! What strides forward for humanity eh? Now we can learn the war instinct, now we can saddle up on our little pink horses and ride into Tucson and blow away Yosemite Sam. Now we can raise other little girls with a photo of their dead mommy on the mantle, decorated up to her uterus in war medals she earned for protecting her country oh and also killing another womans babies.
We trade lives the way we trade stock but with less care. The sale of Microsoft or IBM or McDonalds would have had more diplomacy, more study, more hours spent pouring over details and consequences than this war.
So girls, lets keep making babies, we need them. Those uniforms look so damn good all neatly pressed the way we taught them; the seams sharp and clean; their shave and haircut precise. Momma din make no slouch. The same child we protected and fussed over, we now pat on the arse and send off to war.
What the heck, war keeps the population down.
Vive la guerre.
