Productivity consultant Parry Bellot has said he will not retract his claim that 80% of the public service is unproductive. The Public Service Workers Union has called on Government to disassociate itself from the claim.

The third Test of the series between the West Indies and Australia will be held in Dominica from April 23-27. The match has been moved from Guyana after a dispute between the cricjet authorities and Government there.

An oil tanker which ran agound last week has been successfully floated off rocks near Jimmit. The tanker was from St Kitts.

Grand Bay men in custody for WU robbery

Two Grand Bay men have been arrested, chareged and remanded in custody on robbery and assault charges following the hold-up at the Western Union office in Roseau last week. Over $200,000 was recovered.

New bridge part of Roseau development plan

The recently opened new west bridge is just part of a plan to improve and develop Roseau, said Dominica's Minister for Urban Development, J Timothy. Included in the plan are bus terminals around the city to ease traffic congestion, and a promenade along the Roseau river.
