Canefield airport should stay open

The Dominica Air and Sea Ports Authority has said that though the level of traffic at Canefield Airport is not viable, the airport should stay open. The Chairman of DASPA Dermot Southwell said it is discussing with Government keeping the airport open. He said it costs over $1 million a year, with negligable income. One reason to keep it open is in case of an emergency with Melville Hall. Courier services like Fedex still use the airport.
