Government productivity 'very low'
The Government productivity advisor says government are operating at 20% productivity. Parry Bellot said private sector efficiency is also down, but not as much. He is presenting a detailed report to Cabinet soon, and said any improvement should be done a ministry at a time. The General Secretary of the government workers union has dismissed the claims, saying there was no scientific basis behind Bellot's claims.
