Dominicas first Dedicated Tourism Smartphone App Launched
Roseau, Dominica: A local web development company today (15th May, 2012) launched the first ever mobile app dedicated to Dominicas tourism product.The Destination Dominica app is a smartphone application that showcases Dominica.
Drawing upon the comprehensive database that powers the popular Visit-Dominica.com website, the app allows users to quickly find what they what to do in Dominica.
CEO of Delphis Ltd, Steve McCabe, said The app is targeted at visitors currently on island or people knowing theyre coming to Dominica. As such, the aim is on letting people quickly and easily find what they want in Dominica, be it a place to eat or stay, or something to do. Theres a real focus on ease of use, and of letting people discover whats around them. For example we make extensive use of Google Maps to show users where attractions and local businesses are located. The app is initially available on the Android platform, with a iPhone version coming soon. Blackberry users can use the mobile website version of the app.
